On behalf of the International Conference on Drug Discovery and Translational Medicine 2018 (ICDDTM ‘18) organising committee, I am truly honoured and delighted to take this opportunity to welcome delegates from all around the world to this conference. It gives me great pleasure and privilege to serve as the Conference Chair.
The emergence of new technologies, advances in genetics and availability of health data have given rise to the era of precision medicine. Precise, personalised patient care is now a clinical reality. Fundamentally, it is impacting the process of drug discovery and development. Of late, leading pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies are increasing their investment in personalised medicines. Therefore, in line with the conference theme “Seizing Opportunities and Addressing Challenges of Precision Medicine”, the conference will offer a global platform to share vital, significant and recent research findings in the field of drug discoveries and translational medicine.
This conference aims to convene academicians, researchers, clinician scientists, nurses, pharmacists, medical doctors, other health care personnel, nutritionists, policy makers, undergraduates, postgraduates and postdoctoral fellows as well as industries from all parts of the world to update on current trends and frontiers of drug discovery and translational medicine research.
The two-day conference programme focuses on a broad range of issues and challenges in the field of medical sciences, pharmacy, chemistry, and biological sciences, which will be weaved through the plenary and invited lectures. The Scientific Committee has planned a thorough programme which entails a few workshops on the preconference day and parallel sessions which ranges from cancer to inflammatory, metabolic, infectious, and neurodegenerative diseases as well as mental health. The highlight of the conference will be the award ceremony; namely the Best Oral Presenter, Best Speed Presenter, and Best Poster Presenter will be given as recognition to the salient work of the selected researchers.
It has been our greatest hope that this conference will serve as an international platform for the exchange of knowledge and expertise in drug discovery and translational medicine research and practices; simultaneously, to explore potential collaborations in the future. It is my fervent hope that this conference will be stimulating and engaging yet fulfilling experience for all the participants.
I want to extend my gratitude to the Scientific Committee and Organising Committee members for their unrelenting perseverance in making this conference a memorable and successful one. To all the speakers and delegates, thank you for sharing your expertise at this conference. Welcome to Putrajaya and enjoy the warm hospitality of Malaysia, truly Asia!
